The biggest  Annual  Drama  festival  2012  was  held  in university  of  Kelaniya  premises  recently.  Many famous  as well as worthy  stage  dramas  were  staged  highlighting  current, social issues,  youth life & creativity in today's world. It's the time where our young university students  showcase their talents,skills &  new attitudes.Most of the dramas were based on novels,short stories which were written in  Sinhala as well as English.
                   
Starting from the directing,producing ,writing & acting all  the functions relating to all of  the dramas were in a high caliber.Once again  it's really proud to say that our  university is   enriched with all these worthy drama scripts with a  amazing  talented cast.

Few descriptions about dramas 

1.''Bakamuna veedhi bassi"- Highlighting the present situation in life.Mainly comparing today's society to a owl who only comes at night , while doing not a single task in rest of the day.

2.''Janaleyen panninna''- This is about current pathetic situation in university system.How the drawbacks of    universities are affecting to the students

 3.''Jhonge satthu wattha''- It's safe to love a  animal than a human.Clearly showing cruelty of the society
